Hello. I'm Greg King.
I'm a user experience designer based in Austin, Texas. Born and raised in North Carolina, I ventured to NYC after college to begin a career and marry a Texan. I now live in Austin with my wife and dog.
I'm a user advocate.
I became well-accustomed to evaluating and seeking to accommodate the wants and needs of clients while working as a business development director for a software company. As a result, I recognize the importance of fighting for the user at every step when creating a solution.
I'm a problem solver.
My career began in New York City working for the Mets. As a Building Operations Coordinator, I helped solve all issues pertaining to operations at Citi Field from construction projects to clubhouse climate control. I learned the daily habits of engineers, executives, players, and peers and proactively solved their day-to-day work-related needs.
I'm a researcher.
I pursued the study of European history in graduate school at Hunter College in New York City. I love to research people and get to the bottom of why they do the things they do. Get in touch if you fancy grabbing a pint while discussing what Margaret Thatcher has to do with Brit Pop and the beautiful game.
I'm a teacher.
I earned an undergraduate degree in history and a Social Studies teaching certificate at NC State University. In doing so I learned that I enjoy teaching people about drawing actionable insights from complex ideas. Forming educated conclusions about the past to inform the future is an important aspect of learning history, and equipping others to confront these issues is critical.
I'm a writer.
I've always loved the written word — literature, history, music, rhetoric. One of my passions is writing about the things I observe... and one of the things I copiously observe is soccer. Read some of my banter at The Tottenham Way.
